Randy Wells, CAI, BAS, AARE, GPPA, CES

Randy A. Wells of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho served on the board of the National Auctioneers Association for over fourteen years, and from 2008 – 2010 served as President and Chairman of the Board for the National Auctioneers Association.

Mr. Wells is the owner of Realty Auction Services LLC, is a licensed Realtor and is an Associate Auctioneer for Benefit Auctions 360. Mr. Wells holds the following designations: CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute), BAS (Benefit Auction Specialist), AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate), GPPA (Graduate Personal Property Appraisal), and CES (Certified Estate Specialist). He has conducted well over 2000 auctions since 1985 including: estate, antiques & collectibles, business liquidation, automobile, benefit and real estate auctions. His firm Realty Auction Services has specialized in real estate auctions since 1998, conducting real estate auctions for many individuals, attorneys and mortgage companies. He has worked with seller owners in association with: Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker, Windermere, Prudential, GMAC, ReMax, Real Team and Exit Realty.

Randy and his wife Annette were awarded business of the year by the Post Falls Area Chamber of Commerce in 1999 and he also served as president of the chamber in 2002.

Mr. Wells is currently an instructor for the National Auctioneers Association Education Institute teaching the Auction Manager course and is one of the instructors for the Certified Auctioneers Institute at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he was awarded the Distinguished Faculty of the year award in 2008. He has also given seminars at over 30 state and national conventions during his auction career and is currently serving as chair of the Auction Forum for the National Association of Realtors.

Randy was president of the Idaho Association of Professional Auctioneers in 2002. That same year he also attended a two day bilingual (English–Spanish) auctioneering course held at the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa.

In 2000 Mr. Wells was elected to the Auction Marketing Institute Board of Trustees and in 2003 he was elected to the National Auctioneers Association Board of Directors during their annual meeting at the 54th International Auctioneers Conference and Show held in San Antonio, Texas. He served as chair of the NAA Public Relations committee and as a sitting member of several other NAA committees including: Finance, Long Range Planning, CAI, GPPA and the Auction Certificate Program committees. In 2004, he was awarded the Idaho State Auctioneering Championship title and in 2009 was inducted into the Idaho Association of Professional Auctioneers Hall of Fame.  He also had the opportunity to attend state leadership conferences held each October at Overland Park, Kansas for several years and was able to work on several occasions with Michael Avery the director of education for the National Auctioneer’s Association to help rewrite the GPPA 101 course, the Auction Manager course, the Benefit Auction Specialist course.

Randy and his wife Annette have been married for 39 years and have two children who also work in the auction industry.
